Send it to the Crusher

In the early 1990’s the Chrysler corporation donated almost 100 Viper prototype cars to technical colleges around the nation. They had 600hp-V10 engines in them but were not intended to be driven. The agreement was that they would only be used for educational purposes so that students could learn the cutting edge of the newest sports car technologies.
However, in March of 2014, Chrysler ordered that the remaining cars that still exist in these colleges be crushed. Why? Students were stealing the cars to take them out on joy rides and getting into terrible accidents. Though they looked like the real thing, prototypes were not fully outfitted to be genuinely road-worthy. Chrysler is now urging all schools to send the cars to the local ‘crusher’ so that they cannot cause any more accidents.
Sin deceives our hearts and looks so inviting and invigorating but what we don’t know is that if we try to take it out for a spin, it will end up damaging or destroying us. That’s why the bible consistently warns about how sin not only entices, but also wrecks our lives if we continually give in. We are told to send it to the crusher, be done with it. Take it to the cross and leave it there.
He was crushed for your iniquities (Is. 53:5).
